Establish a session in a SRDF/Metro Smart DR Reverse Replicate environment

SRDF/Metro Smart DR is a two-region high available (HA) disaster recovery (DR) solution. It integrates SRDF/Metro and SRDF/A enabling HA DR for a Metro session.

Prerequisites

The storage system must be running PowerMaxOS 5978 Q3 2020 or later.

About this task

SRDF/Metro Smart DR Reverse Replicate supports replication from the DR site to the Metro region after a failover, enabling the Metro region to have a full copy of data from the DR site before failing back to the Metro region.

To establish a reverse replicate session in a smart DR environment:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Click PROTECTION to view the PROTECTION dashboard and select SRDF/MetroDR from the High Availability section of the summary panel. Alternatively, select DATA PROTECTION > MetroDR.
  3. Select a smart DR environment and click Establish.
  4. Select the DR session type.
    The Reverse option is displayed.
  5. Select the Reverse session type.
  6. Optional: Click Advanced Options to set the advanced options. Select the advanced options and click OK.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
    • Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
